GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team opened the 2023 fall season at the Mizuno Intercollegiate on Monday, finishing in 7th at 3-over par as a team after day one.

"It was nice to finally get our season started," head coach Randy Wylie said. "There is plenty of improvement to be had as we may have had some first-game jitters."

Luke Stock finished the day right outside the top 10 tied for 12th, shooting a 73 in the first 18 holes and a 69 in the second 18. The four-stroke improvement from the first to the second round put Stock at 2-under par on the day.

Antonio Farinella also had a solid outing, with a 73-stroke round one performance followed by a 73 in round two. Farinella finished even after day one.

True freshman Noah Cambridge made his Eagles debut on Monday, shooting a 74 in round one before knocking two strokes off with a 72 in the second round, tying for 36th at 2-over par.
