Stock Selected to Compete in Southeast Regional

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Following a solid junior season, Luke Stock has been selected to compete as an individual in the NCAA DII Southeast Regional at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia.

"I am so happy that Luke was recognized as one of the top players in the region," head coach Randy Wylie said. "It is a well-deserved honor for his season as a consistent leader on our Eagle team."

Stock's selection was well deserved, following a 72.6 stroke average through nine events in the regular season. The junior finished in the top 20 four times amongst top-tier fields and placed 5th at the Hurricane Invitational during the fall season.

In the Mizuno Intercollegiate, held at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in September, Stock shot his best round of the season, a 69 in the second round, helping him to a 15th-place finish out of 100 golfers. He finished the event at 1-under, his second-best finish of the season.

In the Eagles' regional appearance last season at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Florida, Stock was impressive, finishing at 2-under par, good for 11th place among the country's best.

This time, competing individually on a tough course will be a new challenge for C-N's junior golfer. At the regional's conclusion, the top five teams will advance, and in Stock's case, he will look to be one of the top two individuals in the region to move on.

Stock is joined by seven other golfers in the individual competitors, including Limestone's Kristoffer Larsson. It will be a competitive fight for the top two spots in the region, but Stock's familiarity with the course can give him a leg up on the field.

The southeast regional tees off on May 9th at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia.
