Eagles Travel to Lenoir City for Tennessee River Rumble

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team awaits another chance to bolster its regional standing, heading to Lenoir City, Tennessee, for the Tennessee River Rumble at the Windriver Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles' performance last time out at the Ralph Hargett Invitational was filled with highs and lows. Elliot MacGregor tallied a 67 in round two to play a large role in helping the Eagles to a fourth-place standing after day one. Noah Cambridge and Luke Stock shot in the low 70s to sit in the top 15 after the first two rounds.

However, on day two, C-N slipped four spots following three rounds in the 80s and two in the high 70s, giving the Eagles their highest round total.

The Eagles head to a familiar course at the Windriver Golf Club, looking to build on some of the low rounds and cut out the high rounds from a week ago.

A year ago, the Eagles shot 5-under as a team to finish fourth at the Tennessee River Rumble. Luke Stock led the returning Eagles, finishing tied for 11th at 4-under, including a 69 in the first round. Elliot MacGregor shot 8-over to tie for 50th, shooting a low round of 72 in the second round. Antonio Farinella tied for 73rd at 13-over, with a 73 and a 75 in rounds one and three but a high round of 81, which played a role in his overall total.

Listed under consideration for the southeast regional, the Tennessee River Rumble provides C-N another chance to strengthen its case for postseason play. With familiarity at the Windriver Golf Club, the Eagles will look for a strong performance starting Monday at 9 AM in Lenoir City, Tennessee.
