Eagles Sit in 13th After Day One of Saint Leo Invitational

DADE CITY, Fl. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team sits in 7th place at 5-over following the first round and the first 12 holes of the second round of the Saint Leo Invitational.

Leading the Eagles is Noah Cambridge, who is tied for 36th. The freshman shot a 73 in the first round and is sitting at even through 14 holes of the second round. In a tightly contested field, Cambridge sits within distance of climbing the scoreboard on day two.

Three Eagles sit tied for 45th in Nick Daugherty, Antonio Farinella, and Luke Stock.

In his first round, the Roane State transfer Daugherty shot a solid 71 to finish at 1-under. Through 14 holes in round two, Daugherty has added three strokes to his total to finish the day at 2-over.

Farinella shot a 75 in the first round to finish tied for 57th at 3-over. However, Farinella has delivered an improved performance through 14 holes in round two, climbing 12 spots and finishing the day at 2-over.

Stock stays put through the first round and 15 holes of round two, shooting a 74 in round one, and is even at the end of the day in round two.

Rounding out the Eagles is Steven Haremski, sitting tied for 61st at through the first round and 13 holes of round two. Haremski fell four spots in the second round after shooting a 75 in the first round, adding a stroke through round two.

C-N sits two strokes behind 12th place Montevallo, so with improved performance, the Eagles can move up the board on day two. The Eagles will return to Lake Jovita Country Club to finish round two and the final 18 holes of the Saint Leo Invitational tomorrow morning.
