Eagles Finish Tied for 11th at Saint Leo Invitational

DADE CITY, Fl. – The Carson-Newman men's golf finished the final holes of the second round and played the last 18 holes of the Saint Leo Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, finishing the event tied for 11th at 1-over as a team.

Luke Stock and Noah Cambridge led the Eagles, both tying for 28th. In the final 18 holes, Stock had an impressive front nine holes, shooting back-to-back birdies on holes two and three and did the same on holes seven and eight before closing out the front nine with an eagle on hole nine. However, Stock shot just one birdie on the back nine and had double bogeys on holes 15 and 18. Still, Stock performed well with a 72 in the final round and finished one-under par for the event. Stock rose nine spots on the final day of action.

Noah Cambridge tallied three birdies in the final round, with two coming on the back nine. Cambridge also tallied an eagle on the second hole. However, Cambridge shot bogeys on five holes. The freshman also rose on day two after being tied for 31st after day one with a 72 on the last 18 holes.

Roane State transfer Nick Daugherty delivered his best round of the event with a 69 on the final 18 holes to finish tied for 46th. In the final round, Daugherty only had one hole above par with a bogey on 14. Daugherty finished the front nine strong with an eagle on hole nine and had two birdies on the back nine on holes 11 and 12. Daugherty's stellar performance bumped him 22 spots on the final day, finishing at 3-over.

Antonio Farinella shot a 74 in the final round to finish the event at 4-over. Farinella struggled near the end of the front nine, tallying three straight bogeys on holes six through eight. However, Farinella shot three birdies on the back nine to finish the round strong.

Rounding out the Eagles was Steven Haremski, shooting an 82 in the final round to tie for 92nd. Haremski shot a double bogey on hole four, followed by four straight bogeys before shooting par to end the front nine. Haremski tallied another double bogey and three bogeys on the back nine but finished the round strong with a birdie on the final hole.

The Eagles will have close to a month off before traveling to the Ralph Hargett Invitational on March 18th in Monroe, North Carolina.
