Eagles Men's Golf Finish Tied for 7th in Season Debut at Mizuno Intercollegiate

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The 16th-ranked Carson-Newman men's golf team capped off the Mizuno Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing tied for 7th

"It wasn't a bad start to the season," head coach Randy Wylie said. "We know we can do better."

In their season debut, the Eagles had two finishers in the top 20 in Luke Stock and Antonio Farinella.

Stock shot a 73 in the final round of action, finishing tied for 15th at 1-under par. Farinella also ended on a solid note, shooting an even 72 in the last 18 holes, tying for 18th and finishing even after the two-day event.

Nick Daugherty shot his best round of the tournament in round three, shooting a 72 to finish tied for 37th at 4-over par.

In his Eagles debut, freshman Noah Cambridge shot a 75 in round three to finish tied for 41st at 5-over. 

Aidan Powter rounded out the Eagles, tied for 66th and shooting a 76 to finish 8-over par after the two-day tournament.

The Eagles look to build on some positives from the Mizuno Intercollegiate as they prepare for the 2023 Cateechee Fall Invitational in Harwell, Ga., on October 2nd.
