Despite grounds crew efforts, Carson-Newman v. Lees-McRae Softball postponed

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman head groundskeeper Matt Hollifield, assistant coach Michael Graves, members of the C-N softball team and volunteers from Carson-Newman football worked tirelessly Tuesday to prepare the Vickee Kazee-Hollifield Softball Complex for a Wednesday doubleheader with Lees-McRae. 

However, in spite of clearing four inches of snow from the field, a night of sub-20-degree temperatures and a re-freeze rendered the playing surface at The Vick unplayable and the Eagles' doubleheader with the Bobcats has been postponed. 

No makeup date has been announced.  

The Eagles travel to the Mid-South Classic Friday and Saturday.
