ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman junior utility player Elayna Siebert (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been honored by the South Atlantic Conference as the AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

"I've never gotten this before," Siebert said. "So this really is a huge deal to me.  I've worked on relaxing and being focused in the moment.  Every play is important and I've worked on just not thinking much."

Siebert posted 13 hits, four doubles, seven RBI, two home runs and a .591 average at the dish to lead the Eagles to a 4-2 record last week.

She posted a hit in all six games she played in and went for multiple hits in four contests.  Siebert has hit successfully in 12 consecutive contests, including Monday's contests against Erskine.

Siebert highlighted her week with four hits, a double and a pair of RBI in the Eagles' 10-4 win over USC Aiken in game two of the double-header on March 25.  The four-hit game is the third of her career.

She posted six extra-base hits in the six-game span to finish with a slugging percentage of 1.045.

Siebert hit a go-ahead home run in game one of a doubleheader with Lenoir-Rhyne to push the Eagles to their first sweep of L-R since the 2002 season.

Siebert joins two-time SAC player of the week honoree Bre Lockett as C-N's third SAC player of the week this season.

Siebert and the Eagles are in action Wednesday at The Vick against Lincoln Memorial. Coverage will be available on the Eagle Sports Network with a free high definition stream at cneagles.com/live starting at 2 p.m.
