Browder opens campaign with WePlayed Sports SAC Player of the Week honor

ROCK HILL, S.C. - For a second consecutive season, Jack Browder (Kingsport, Tenn.) has started the year with a Player of the Week honor.

Last season, Browder collected the first TSWA Player of the Week award of the season. This year, he opens the year collecting the first WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week award, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

It is his first weekly accolade from the league.

Browder helped Carson-Newman to a 3-1 start.  He is averaging 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three.

The junior opened the season with three straight 20 point efforts before turning in a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double against Lees-McRae on Sunday. The 13 rebounds are a career high for Browder.

His top effort came in C-N's 94-75 win over No. 22 Fort Lewis when he had 26 points and 10 rebounds.  His two double-doubles on the year are third nationally through the opening slate of games.

He has 13 double-doubles for his career.

Browder and the rest of the Eagles will be in action Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Johnson & Wales.
