LAKELAND, Fla. – Carson-Newman placed two players on the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament Team, the SCBHOFC announced late Sunday night.

Jack Browder (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Trey Hubbard (Charlotte, N.C.) were both recognized as members of the 11-member body.

Carson-Newman dropped its opening game of the weekend, 85-78 to Lake Superior State, before thumping No. 22 Fort Lewis 94-75 for its largest margin of victory over a nationally-ranked team under head coach Chuck Benson.

Browder and Hubbard both average more than 20 points per game for the weekend.  Browder averaged 23 points and eight rebounds for the weekend.  He had a beefy 26-point, 10-board double-double – the 12th of his career – in the finale against FLC.  Browder shot 60 percent from the field and 62.5 (5-of-8) percent from three.  He also canned 17-of-22 free throws.

Meanwhile, Hubbard finished the weekend chasing triple doubles.  He averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds and five assists per game.

Hubbard was also hyper efficient, canning 69.6 percent of his shots and 4-of-5 threes.  He finished the weekend with a 22-point, eight-board day against the Skyhawks.

The duo, along with the rest of the Eagles, are back in action Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against King in Boone, N.C. at the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge.  Pregame coverage on the Eagle Sports Network begins at 5:15 with the AEC Countdown to Tipoff online at cneagles.com/live.
