JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman placed three players on the All-South Atlantic Conference teams, the league office announced Monday morning.
Jack Browder (Kingsport, Tenn.) earned a spot on the first team while John Zhao (Sevierville, Tenn.) and Trey Hubbard (Charlotte, N.C.) earned second team accolades.
Browder was a third-team selection last season, while Zhao repeats on the second team for a second straight year.
Browder leads C-N with 19.7 points per game. He also averages a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game. He has produced 28 double-digit scoring efforts this season, including 14, 20-point efforts.
He was named national player of the week after scoring 30 points in three straight games. Browder was recognized as the league's player of the week on four occasions this year.
Hubbard has averaged 16.7 points per game to go with 4.2 boards and 5.9 assists.
He has a pair of 30-point nights this season and his 59.6 percent shooting percentage is the best in the SAC among guards.
The senior has handed out five or more assists on 16 occasions this season. He was named the SAC's player of the week on Feb. 10.
Zhao is the fifth Eagle in school history to hit 80 threes in back-to-back seasons. He is averaging 19.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Zhao has scored 20 points or more 13 times this season, topping out at 34 against Anderson. He earned SAC Player of the Week and TSWA Player of the Week honors on Jan. 27.
