Carson-Newman sweeps doubles, tops Cedarville, 8-1

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman Eagles swept all three doubles matches en route to an 8-1 win over visiting Cedarville University on Saturday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

With the win, C-N improves to 3-4 overall and ends a three-match losing streak.

Winning doubles teams for the Eagles were Trent Slagle and Matthew White at No. 1, Paul Birdsong and Adriano Kira at No. 2, and Derek Holdway and Dalton Moore at No. 3.  

The Eagles won all matches from No. 2 through No. 5 singles to clinch the win.

C-N's Dusty Davis beat Bobby Eberhard (7-6, 7-6) at No.2 singles in one of the tightest matches of the day.

The Eagles return to action on Friday at Pfeiffer University in Meisenheimer, N.C.
