MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Senior Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way for the Carson-Newman College men's tennis team, making the Mens' Singles Flight-A Consolation Finals to cap a strong showing at the Georgia College Men's Fall Championships held Sept. 17-19.
Sophomore Derek Holdway (Woodstock, Ga.) and senior Chris Acker (Knoxville, Tenn.) advanced to the Mens' Singles Flight-B Consolation semifinals.
Sophomore Chad Sheppard (Gate City, Va.) made it to the Mens' Singles Flight-C Quarterfinal round.
Sophomore Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) won the Mens' Singles Flight-C Consolation match.
The team of Slagle/Rodolpho Shwarz (Brazil) advanced to the Mens' Doubles Flight-A Quarterfinal round. Birdsong/Holdway reached the Mens' Doubles Flight-C quarterfinals.
