Eagles top University of the Cumberlands, 7-2

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over the University of the Cumberlands on Friday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

With the win, the Eagles even their record to 2-2 on the season.

C-N began the day on a strong note, winning all three doubles matches before sealing the win with four victories in singles play.

Seniors Chris Acker (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Adriano Kira (Brazil) and sophomores Derek Holdway (Woodstock, Ga.) and Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) led the way for the Eagles, as they all won both doubles and singles matches.

The Eagles return to action at home on Monday against Southern Indiana. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
