Eagles suffer 7-2 setback at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Pfeiffer University defeated the Carson-Newman men's tennis team, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon.

With the loss, the Eagles drop to 3-5 on the season.

C-N got off to a slow start as lost two of the three doubles matches and was able to claim only one singles match. Sophomore Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) played a part in both of the team points scored by the Eagles. Birdsong and Adriano Kira (Brazil) were victorious at No. 2 doubles. Birdsong also won his No. 6 singles match.

The Eagles return to action today at Catawba. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
