"The main objective of this weekend was just to get in and simply race. It was obvious early on that we had some rust to knock off, but as the sessions went along, there were a ton of improvements being made," head swim coach Ben Young said.

In the first session on Friday, Henrique Januario placed first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:51.00 and was followed closely by Matt George in second with a time of 1:53.57. In the men's 100-yard freestyle, Wander Sousa placed first with a time of 45.80, Arthur Gluzman came in third, and Ridge McCay followed up in sixth for Eagles. Guilherme Martins grabbed a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.

The Eagles found success in the second session as well. Wander Sousa secured another first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a 21.36 time, and Carson Jones found the podium in the event placing third with a time of 21.52. Henrique Januario found another first-place finish in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:01.83.

"We are a young team, especially on the men's side, and we have a lot of holes to fill, but we also stepped up in several areas. This is not a slow meet by any means and every team here brings a lot to the table. It's great competition for us and it is good to see them getting up and battling it out," Young said.

The Eagles will battle it out again on Nov. 11 against Milligan University at home.
