Carson-Newman Men's Swim Ranked No. 20 in CSCAA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Eagles ranked in the top-25 NCAA Division II men's teams along with one other South Atlantic Conference Program. 

Carson-Newman men's swim earned the No. 20 rank in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division II top 25 polls. The rankings are voted on by CSCAA media representatives and member coaches on a monthly basis. The men recieved a score of 74 points in the vote. Wingate recieved 213 votes to place eighth in the men's poll. 

The Carson-Newman men's swim team is joined by the women who ranked No. 14 with 148 votes in the CSCAA DII Women's Poll. 

The Eagles are coming off the last regular season meet of the season against Georgia Tech resulting in top finishes. 

Henrique Januario finished first in the men's 200-yard breaststroke with a finals time of 2:01.67.

In the men's 400-yard medley relay, Januario raced with teammates Tyler Schehr, Will Humphreys, and Ridge McCay to finish second with a time of 3:22.21. Januario continued to find success in the 200-yard freestyle with a third place finish (1:40.69). Will Humphreys also placed third in the men's 200-yard butterfly in 1:55.24, and Eli Poole finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:50.93.

Matt George snagged silver in the men's 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 50.88. Another top-two finish came from Hobson Stelling in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.22. Arthur Gluzman stood on the podium for his third-place finish in the men's 50-yard freestyle (20.84).

Carson-Newman men's swim will compete again in the South Atlantic Conference Championships beginning Feb. 8. The team will enter the meet as the No. 20 CSCAA NCAA Division II ranked team.
