KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Carson-Newman swim set 18 personal records in day two of the Tennessee Invitational.

Carson-Newman continued to pick up speed yesterday in the second day of the Tennessee Invitational.
"We had some solid swims for sure. We broke a couple records, and all in all it has been a great first two days," head swim coach Ben Young said.

In the 100-yard butterfly prelims, Kyla Blakemore recorded a personal best in 56.99. Manon Compagner competed in the 'A' finals for the event and placed sixth in 53.47. Ridge McCay (53.38) and Malte Brons (52.06) also set personal records in the men's 100-yard butterfly prelims. Laurits Kenskov beat his best time in the men's finals for the event in 49.07, and Guilherme Martins set a personal record with 49.58.

Maria Tirulli recorded a personal best in the 1:55.41 in the women's 200-yard freestyle. Alonso Castro (1:40.54), Wander Sousa (1:39.82), and Ethan Lawless (1:49.87) set personal records in the men's 200-yard freestyle.

In the 100-yard backstroke prelims, Alina Tasman beat her best time in 1:04.98, and Colin Tindall recorded a personal best with a time of 56.99. Emma Bowling (58.99) and Natalia Amano (58.08) set personal bests in the women's finals for the event, and Tyler Schehr (49.99) and Arthur Gluzman (50.47) had personal bests in the men's final.

Jakov Igrec beat his previous record in the 400-yard IM prelims with a time of 4:05.02, and Mandi Chadwell set a personal record in the women's 100-yard breaststroke finals in 1:07.48.

The Eagles also found success in the relay events. The women recorded best times of the season in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.55) and 800-yard freestyle relay (7:57.77). Kennadi King finished her leg of the 800-yard relay with a personal best in 1:51.89.
