ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman senior guard Campbell Penland was announced as the 2024-25 SAC Women's Basketball Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 award winner on Tuesday night prior to last night's quarterfinal win.
The Elite 23 award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade point average in each of the conference's 23 championship sports.
The Sevierville, Tenn native has a 4.00 GPA and 111 credit hours earned studying biology. The two-time CSC Academic All-District player is having a career year from three-point range as a senior. Her 67 made three-pointers are the most in any season during her four-year career. She has drilled three or more three-pointers in 11 games this season.
Penland is averaging 11.4 points per game and has scored in double-figures 15 times this season.
