KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team finished the Kiawah Island Invitational in 10th-place after shooting a final round 302 on Tuesday at Osprey Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.

Seniors Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario, Canada) and Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.) both carded rounds of 73 on Tuesday to lead the Eagles.

Kennedy finished in a tie for 13th after following up his Monday round of even-par 72 with a one-over 73 during the final round to finish the competition at one-over 145, which was five strokes over his career-low 36-hole tournament.

Hall carded two rounds of one-over 73 in each of his two rounds of play to finish at two-over 146 for a tie of 17th.

Freshman Jake Headrick (Maryville, Tenn.) finished his collegiate debut with a round of 78 for a finish of eight-over 152. Headrick tied for 47th-place.

Senior Jace Devault (Bluff City, Tenn.) and freshman Alex Hutson (Newport, Tenn.) both tied for 72nd-place in their first tournaments in the Blue and Orange. Devault finished with a final round total of 80 for a 13-over 157 after carding a 77 on Monday. Hutson was the only Eagle to shoot a lower score during the second round as he shot a 78 during the final round after a score of 79 during the first round.

Host USC Aiken won the tournament with Georgia College and Flager tying for second. 

Carson-Newman has a week off before partaking in the Saint Leo Men's Invitational at Lake Jovita Country Club in Tampa, Fla. On Sept. 28th and 29th.
