Eagles move to 19th in final Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team is ranked 19th in the final edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll after moving up a spot from the poll released in September.

In the Eagles' five events during the fall, Carson-Newman finished in the top-10 in four tournaments and shot just one round outside of the 200's. The team also fired the 10th-lowest round in South Atlantic Conference history during the first round of the St. Leo's Men's Invitational with a score of 277.

Carson-Newman is the highest-ranked SAC school with its 19th-place ranking. Instate rival Lincoln Memorial debuted in the poll at 24th; fellow Volunteer State foe Tusculum received six votes.

Chico State is the top team in Division II after receiving 15 first-place votes. Saint Leo, Nova Southeastern, West Florida and Florida Southern round out the top-five; C-N has faced the second through fifth-ranked teams at least once.

The Eagles have competed against 14 of the top-25 teams in the nation and played the 10th-toughest schedule in the nation during the fall.
