Tennessee River Ramble Results

LOUDON, Tenn. – Junior Dalton Reese (Warrenton, Ga.) carded a final round one-under 71 to ascend up the leaderboard for his first career tournament win at the Tennessee River Ramble at Tennessee National Golf Club, while the 17th-ranked Carson-Newman men's golf team held steady for their second team win of the season on Tuesday.

Reese held off Brevard's Oskar Lundgren by a single stroke for his individual medalist accolade for a two-round total of one-over 145, while the Eagles blew past host Lincoln Memorial by eight strokes for the team title.

"It was a great win for the Eagles. It's so much fun to win the team and the individual," coach Randy Wylie said. "Dalton Reese played terrific in winning his first collegiate event. I was very happy to see it, too, which was great. We had some guys struggle but the course is really difficult and their teammates picked up and carried them to the victory."

Reese opened his round with a score of three-under on the front nine and overcame three bogeys over the duration of five holes to win the River Ramble.  The junior entered the day three strokes off the lead in fifth-place.  The Georgian becomes the third active Eagle to win individual medalist honors during the Randy Wylie era by joining teammates Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario, Canada) and Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.).

The win is Reese's third top-five finish of the season; his previous career-best finish was a third-place showing at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in February.

Kennedy moved up three spots on the leaderboard with a two-over 74 to finish tied for fifth with a six-over 150. The Canadian birdied two of his final seven holes to take home All-Tournament honors. He finished with five birdies in the two-round event.

Senior Jace DeVault (Bluff City, Tenn.) recovered three strokes on Tuesday with a final round three-over 75 and moved up four spots to finish tied for 10th with a nine-over 153.  DeVault used an even-par score of 36 on the back nine to register his second career top-10 finish.

Freshman Jake Headrick (Maryville, Tenn.) was the only C-N golfer to shoot a higher round during his Tuesday round as the freshman shot an 11-over 83. Headrick shot an even-par 72 during his first round and was in third-place, but finished with an 11-over 155 and tied for 17th. The 83 was just the Maryville, Tenn. native's second score in the 80s during his debut season.

Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.) rounded out the Orange and Blue's team with a six-over 78 and moved up a spot on the leaderboard to a tie for 21st at 13-over 157. The senior's two-round total of 13-over is the highest score he has recorded during his final season at Mossy Creek.

Freshman Grant Bodie (Knoxville, Tenn.) competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 31st with a six-over 78. Bodie finished the tournament with a two-round total of 15-over 159.

Carson-Newman won by eight strokes over the host Railsplitters, while Brevard finished two strokes behind LMU in third.

The Eagles will take 12 days off before journeying to Brevard, N.C. for the South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championships at Etowah Valley Golf Club hosted by Brevard.
