Eagles move to #19 in Golfstat Rankings

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman men's golf team has once again moved up the Golfstat rankings, now sitting at 19th in the nation as announced by Golfstat on Tuesday.

The Eagles also sit at 21st in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll.

Head coach Randy Wylie's squad has recorded six-straight top-five finishes this season.

This week, the Eagles placed second at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, the team's best finish of the season. C-N's first and second round scores of 294 and 275 played into its move up the rankings.

Sophomore Tom Forster (Oundle, England) won the tournament title in the event hosted by Division I Tennessee Tech with a 13-under score of 203. His first round score of 71 and season-record low of 65 propelled him to 46th in the nation with an adjusted scoring average of 72.10.

Before this event, the Eagles took a fourth-place finish at the Panther Invitational.

Jake Headrick (Maryville, Tenn.) currently sits at 70th in the nation with a 72.95 average.

The Eagles hit the links again on April 3 for the Tennessee River Rumble at the Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tenn.
