JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- Following a 2-0 week, Carson-Newman men's soccer (6-1-4, 4-0-3) is back in the United Soccer Coaches Poll rankings that were released earlier today.

The Eagles went from receiving votes last week, to jumping all the way to 13. C-N was one of five teams that were unranked last week to enter this week's poll.

This is the 69th week the Eagles have been ranked, 56th in the top 20, and the 46th time ranked in the top 15. It is the highest C-N has been ranked since Oct. 22, 2019, when it was also ranked 13th. It also ties C-N's highest rank under head coach Stephen Lyons.

C-N began the week with a quality 3-2 win over #14 Mars Hill. Three different Eagles scored in the match to help take down the ranked Lions.

Two days later, C-N continued its dominance with a convincing 3-0 victory over Newberry. Once again, it was a trio of Eagles that scored in the win.

Seniors Tim Vercelli and Nic Carsh each scored two goals last week and fellow senior Willem Kruijk assisted on three of C-N's six goals.

The Eagles finished the month of September unbeaten at 3-0-4. The unbeaten streak in the month of September extends to 13 games dating back to last season.

C-N is the highest ranked South Atlantic Conference team. Catawba is the only other SAC team ranked, coming in at 25.

Carson-Newman also moved into 1st in the Southeast region rankings. The Eagles were ranked fourth previously.

Lyons' bunch return to the pitch on Saturday when it visits Lenoir-Rhyne.
