Lyons' crew visits Emory & Henry for midweek conference matchup

C-N Match Notes 

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – No. 25 Carson-Newman (3-1-3, 1-0-2) visits Emory & Henry (0-6, 0-3) for its fifth road match of 2022. 

Tomorrow night's meeting will be the first between the Eagles and the Wasps. 

C-N is currently on a four-match unbeaten streak since the beginning of September. C-N is coming off a scoreless draw with Wingate on Saturday. The Eagles had their fair share of opportunities, firing three shots on target but all three were saved. 

Seniors Nic Carsh and Willem Kruijk are tied for the team leads with two goals each. Seven other Eagles have scored a goal this season. C-N has assisted on seven of its 11 goals, with Kruijk leading the team with two assists.

Senior goalkeeper Darin De Meza has 16 saves this season, with two clean sheets. The two shutouts have come in back-to-back matches. His current 0.83 goals against average mark ranks 6th for a single-season in C-N history. 

Seniors Ben King and Eric Schmutzer have played all 630:00 minutes in the seven matches this season. On Saturday, King moved into 6th passing Tom Read for career minutes with 4,478. 

Carson-Newman is in a tie for second in the South Atlantic Conference standings with five points. The Eagles trail 1stplace Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba by just one point.

Emory & Henry enters the midweek matchup winless in its six matches this season. The Wasps have been outscored 34-3.

Three different players have each scored this season.

Senior goalkeeper Spencer Scott has made 22 saves this season which ranks 3rd in the conference. 

In SAC play, the Wasps have been outscored 23-2. 

Emory & Henry will host just its second SAC home game since joining the conference.
