JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman men's soccer is ranked 12th in the Super-Region 2 rankings released by the NCAA earlier today.

NCAA DII Men's Soccer is split up into four super regions. The Eagles are in Super-Region 2, with teams from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas, Gulf South Conference, Peach Belt Conference, and Sunshine State Conference.

The Super-Region rankings are determined by several metrics. Strength of schedule, in-region record, in-region RPI, in-region strength of schedule, and performance indicator.

Carson-Newman is one of three SAC schools in the top twelve. Wingate is No. 5 and Coker is No. 7. The Eagles tied both the Bulldogs and the Cobras.

With a loss to Auburn Montgomery last week, C-N's performance indicator dropped from 18.286 to 17.733. The Eagles in region RPI is 0.559.

The top team in Super-Region two is Florida Tech. It is unbeaten this season at 7-0-5 and is ranked No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

Barry University is No. 2 with an 8-1-3 record this season. Rollins rounds out the top three and is 8-3-2 this season. West Florida is ranked No.11 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll but ranks 4th in the Super-Region two rankings.

Nova Southeastern is number six with a 6-3-3 record. Coker follows in behind with a 6-1-8 record. Lynn, Tampa, and Palm Beach Atlantic round out the top ten in that order. Lander is eleventh in the region with a 9-3-4 record.

Each Wednesday the NCAA will release super-region rankings. Only ten teams from each super-region will make the NCAA tournament. Five at-large bids and five conference champions from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas, Gulf South Conference, Peach Belt Conference, and Sunshine State Conference comprise the field.
