Hutson releases 2022 fall schedule

Kelsey Hutson interview

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- Carson-Newman head women's golf coach Kelsey Hutson has released her team's schedule for the 2022 fall season. Hutson enters her second season leading the Eagles women's golf team.

C-N will begin the fall with the UIndy Invitational played at Prairie View golf course in Carmel, Indiana. The tournament will begin on Sept 12 and wrap up on Sept 13.

"It's a wonderful course," Hutson said. "Last year we were tied for 3rd and then we finished top five. It starts the season with a good pace. It's a good course for my girls, it's open, it has wide good greens. It's just a good starting point for the season."

Two weeks later, C-N stays close to home as it will compete in the City with Spirit Fall Classic held at Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tennessee.

On October 10th and the 11th, the team travels to Dahlonega, Georgia for the 2022 LeeAnn Noble Memorial. That tournament will be played at Achasta Golf Club.

C-N wraps up the fall season when it travels to Bradenton, Florida to play in the Rolling Legends at Bradenton Country Club. This final event of the fall will start October 31th and finish up the following day.

"Last year we had a great fall, it was a great motivation heading into the spring," Hutson said. "Spring matters a lot in women's golf, but in the fall, we have set it up to where the girls can gain great motivation and great confidence in themselves to really play well in the spring."

C-N returns top golfer Maeve Cummins. She posted a team best 74.9 scoring average in the 24 rounds she competed in for the Eagles last season. Ellie Haughton returns to the Eagles as well posting after a 75.5 scoring average in 2021. Hannah Holland also returns to the Eagles for another season. She ended the spring on a high note, finishing her final five rounds of the year at +13.

Carson-Newman is coming off a third-place finish at the SAC Women's Golf Championships earlier this spring. It was the highest finish for the Eagles at the event since 2016.

Each event throughout the fall will be followed up with recap and results on cneagles.com.
