C-N back in action at City with Spirit Classic

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- After a 9th place finish in its first tournament of the fall season, No. 25 Carson-Newman returns to the course tomorrow and Tuesday for the City with Spirit Classic.

C-N will compete at Cleveland Country Club. The course ranges nearly 6,000 yards and is a par 72.

The Eagles are coming off a 9th place finish at the UIndy Invitational. Competing for the Eagles team is Maeve Cummins, Caroline Nemes, Ellie Haughton, Ana Herrera and Hannah Holland.

Cummins paced C-N in the first tournament of the fall season. She finished with a 74.3 scoring average for the three rounds.

Nemes followed behind with a 77-scoring average. She shot 76 in her first two rounds of the season.

In the first tournament of the year, Haughton had a 79- scoring average. Her three round performance was an 80-78-79.

Herrera and Holland shot identical rounds in the first tournament, firing an 80-76-79.

Competing as individuals are freshman Madison Cline and senior Aynsleigh Martin. Cline finished her first college tournament with an 80-scoring average.

Martin has competed in seven rounds with C-N. She has shot a low round of 77 twice in her career.
