Women’s Golf welcomes three newcomers for 2023 class

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women's golf announced the signing of three new athletes, Macy Bromley, Parker Miller, and Ella Whaley, all of which are set to join the Eagles in the fall of 2023.

Bromley is from Darden, Tennessee, and played her high school golf at Riverside high school, where she set and broke school records. During Macy's junior and senior seasons, her team won the District & Region championships. She was top medalist in both district and region as a junior, and received a region medalist her senior year. Bromley earned all-district and all-region honors three years in a row. She competed in the TSSAA state high school golf championship all four years of high school. Outside of high school golf, Bromley has been very active in summer events. She has collected several medalist and top medalist honors during her junior golf career.

"Macy is a fantastic athlete with great athlete genes in her family," Director of Golf Randy Wylie said. "She is very competitive and will be the type of player who I expect to improve greatly in college."

Miller is from Maryville, Tennessee and played her high school golf at Maryville high school. She is a 4-time Blount County Champion and a 2022 District 4-AA runner-up. During this most recent summer, she finished first in three events and had several top 10 finishes, including the Sneds Tour Tournament of Champions. Miller qualified for the 2022 TSSAA Division I, Class AA State Tournament. She chose to play at Carson-Newman because of the excellent women's golf program. Miller will be studying political science.

"She is a very smart and consistent player," Wylie said. "She had a really solid summer and is one of the best players in East Tennessee."

Whaley joins the Eagles from Nottingham, England. She played her high school golf at Derby College. While in high school, Whaley was a multi-sport athlete, participating in gymnastics as well. She participated in the Scottish Girls' Open championship and the West of England Ladies Open championship last summer. She chose to play for the Eagles because of the facilities and the relational atmosphere amongst the staff and players.

"Ella is a technically sound and experienced player coming in," Wylie said. "She will benefit from having played in some big international tournaments."
