ROCK HILL, S.C. — Carson-Newman junior forward Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

Howell scored a pair of goals to lead Carson-Newman to a 2-1 victory in a SAC match at Wingate. Howell, who missed the previous four matches with an injury, returned to score what proved to be the match winner in the 34th minute. She later put the game out of reach with a goal in the 83rd minute, giving the Lady Eagles a 2-0 cushion.

Howell leads C-N with eight goals and 19 points. Howell and the Lady Eagles are on a four-match winning streak and are 7-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
