SUMTER, S.C. – The Eagles men's tennis team took the court at the Palmetto Tennis Center and had some success in the ITA Championships on Friday and Saturday.
SINGLES
In the first round, three Eagles earned byes, as Marnix Van Dalen, Marc Janse, and Gjorgii Jankulovski rested until the second round. Lars Hordijk and Paul Gayk competed in the first round and won.

The second round proved to be a tough test for the Eagles, and despite a couple of tightly contested matches, four out of the five Eagles players dropped matches In round two.

On Saturday, Marnix Van Dalen dropped a hard-fought match against 8-seeded Phillip Lemken to end the Eagles' run in the main singles play bracket.

DOUBLES
In the main doubles bracket, the Eagles' 16-seed Paul Gayk and Gjorgii Jankulovski earned a bye, while Marc Janse and Yehor Opanasenko secured a dominant win, and Marnix Van Dalen and Lars Hordijk fell in a tight match.

In the round of 32, Paul Gayk and Gjorgii Jankulovski blanked Catawba's Paul Dekester and Sebastian Zabala, while Marc Janse and Yehor Opanasenko fell to the Lee's 3rd-seeded Francisco Faria and Wihan Van Der Merwe.

Paul Gayk and Gjorgii Jankulovski's run ended in the round of 16, falling to Flagler's Makary Adamek and Philipp Lemken.
