JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Eagles men's tennis team takes the court on Friday morning at the ITA Championships in Sumter, SC, after a solid start to the 2023 fall season.
C-N returns to the court after competing in the LMU Invitational, where they yielded many positive results in their first action of the season.
Gjorgii Jankulovski will look to improve on a 2-0 start to the season in singles play. Jankulovski provides some stability in the lineup for first-year head coach Jon Parker, garnering a 42-11 record in his career at C-N.
Paul Gayk seeks to continue contributing for the Eagles after a 1-1 start in singles play. Gayk and Jankulovski combined for a 2-1 record as doubles partners this past weekend and look to play a large role in the Eagles' success this weekend.
Marc Janse, the winningest player on the Eagles roster with 58 career singles victories, also went 1-1 on the weekend in singles play. He also tallied a 2-1 doubles record at the LMU Invitational, helping the Eagles to a 5-4 overall record in doubles play.
New Mexico State transfer Yehor Opanasenko will search for his first singles win in an Eagles uniform. He looks to continue his contributions in doubles after a 2-1 record at the LMU Invitational.
The Eagles will look to get off to a good start on Friday morning before wrapping up the two-day ITA Championship on Saturday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, SC.
