JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (3-2, 1-0 SAC) started its conference slate on the right foot, taking down Lenoir-Rhyne (4-2, 2-1 SAC), 5-2.
In singles, the Eagles took four of six matches, including Marnix Van Dalen earning a big win in No. 1 singles and Marc Janse notching his eighth-consecutive singles win with a hard-fought three-set victory in the No. 3 slot. The only two losses for the Eagles came in No. 3 and 4 singles, as Gjorgii Jankulovski fell in a two-set match and Paul Gayk dropped No. 4 singles despite battling back after dropping the first set.
