JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman men's and women's tennis matches against Mars Hill and King have been postponed.
Mars Hill has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 2 and 2 p.m. A date and time is yet to be determined for the King match.
The Eagles host Brevard tomorrow at 2 p.m. Last season, the men's team defeated the Tornadoes 8-1. Brevard's lone point came at no. 2 singles when Derek Holdway, since graduated, retired the match to David Taggart.
The women's team fell to Brevard 5-4. The Tornadoes were unable to field enough players and the Lady Eagles claimed two points by default.
Haleigh Chastain (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Brooke Sanderson (Evans, Ga.) earned C-N's remaining points at no. 3 and 5 singles respectively.
Chastain defeated Katie Ouellette 7-6, 7-6, both sets ending with a 10-4 tiebreaker. Sanderson toppled Nirvana Silva 6-0, 6-1.
Tomorrow's match will kick off at 2 p.m. at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.
