Brown seals 15th victory, Eagles fall 6-3

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Carson-Newman (9-13, 2-8 SAC) women's tennis team dropped today's match 6-3 to Anderson (8-7, 7-3 SAC).

 

Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) and Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.) contributed the Eagles' lone doubles point with a 9-8 final over Rebecca Bruning and Lindsay Gregory in the no. 2 spot.

 

Guerreiro went on to defeat Karen Ching at no. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3.

 

C-N's third point came from Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) at no. 5 singles. Brown stole a three-setter from Gregory 7-6, 2-6, 10-5 for her 15th consecutive singles win.

 

The Eagles head next to the University of the Cumberlands Tuesday at 3 p.m.
