KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Alex Hodge's six under par day is the driving force behind Carson-Newman's place in the leaderboard after day one of the Queens Invitational.

Alex Hodge led the scoring efforts for the Eagles with his impressive combined 133. The graduate student collected eight birdies in the second round, which locked him in a tie for second place.

Carson-Newman was able to overcome what coach Randy Wylie called "a slow start", but were able to rebound very well in the second round.
