INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - A day after shooting the third-best round of golf in SAC history, the Carson-Newman men's golf team remains at number three in all of Division-II golf according to Golfstat.

The no. 2/3 Eagles won the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate by 10 strokes over Division-I Oral Roberts, shooting an impressive 15-under 272 in the second round and shot 29-under par for the entire two-day tournament. 

Carson-Newman is still the highest ranked team in the SAC, sitting one spot ahead of no. 4 Lincoln Memorial, and ahead of no. 11 Limestone, no. 24 Newberry and no. 25 Queens. They are the second-highest ranked team in the Southeast Region, behind no. 2 USC-Aiken. Barry University holds the top spot. 

Individually, Jonathan Nielsen is still ranked as the fifth best golfer in Divsion-II. After a rough first round in Sevierville, Nielsen rebounded on the second day of the tournament, moving up 20 spots to a tie for 19th place after shooting a four-under 68. Nielsen finished two-under for the tournament with a score of 142. 

Teammate Alex Hodge moved up 11 spots in this week's rankings, moving up to 64th. Hodge finished tied for third after shooting a three-under 69 in the second round. The Knoxville, Tenn. native finished the tournament with an eight-under 136. His five-under and average score of 3.75 on par fours was tied for second-best in the entire field. 

Jake Mynatt is up into the top-90 of the national rankings, up eight spots to 84th in the nation. Mynatt finished fifth at Bobby Nichols after recording a four-under 68 in the second round. Mynatt ended the week with a seven-under 137. The junior finished tied for the best score on par fives, shooting an average score of 4.13 and seven-under. He also had 11 birdies during the week. 

Jackson Tyler moved up one spot in the individual rankings to 87th in the country. Tyler finished tied for 14th overall after improving by one stroke in the second round, shooting a two-under 70. He was one of just 24 players to record an eagle this week at the Sevier Golf Club River Course.

Will Collins and Elliot MacGregor enter the Golfstat top-150 for the first time this season. 

Collins sits at 137th after carding a four-under 68 in the second round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Collins finished the tournament with a four-under 140 and recorded the most pars of any individual in the tournament, finishing with 29 in his 36 holes played. 

Bobby Nichols Individual Champion Elliot MacGregor sits at 140th, his first national ranking of his career. The freshman won his first career tournament individual championship, shooting a five-under 67 and rising three spots throughout the second round. The Shepperton, Middlesex native shot nine-under throughout the week, finishing with a final score of 135. MacGregor had the best score of any competitor on par fours, shooting six-under and an average score of 3.70. His 11 birdies were second-most in the field.

Austin Fulton of West Georgia sits in first as the number one individual golfer.
