Carson-Newman holds firm at number one in NCAA Southeast Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the third straight rankings, the no. 2/4 Carson-Newman men's golf team remains in the top spot of the NCAA Southeast Regional rankings.

In the final rankings released before selection day on Apr. 22, the Eagles sit ahead of fellow SAC members no. 2 Lincoln Memorial, no. 6 Limestone, and no. 11 Newberry. 

Teams that win their respective conference championship with receive automatic bids into each regional tournament. For each regional, the top-12 teams will play along with six individuals who are not on the teams included. No. 24 Queens has earned the automatic bid for the South Atlantic Conference after winning the conference championship on Tuesday, Apr. 12. King won the conference championship for the Conference Carolinas. The Peach Belt Conference is holding their conference championship this week.

From there, the top three teams and individuals in each regional tournament will garner a spot in the national championship.

The Carson-Newman men's golf team finished fifth at the 2022 SAC Championship after shooting an eleven-under 277 in their final round at Graysburg Hills.

Will Collins recorded a career best six-under 66 in the final round of the SAC Championship Tournament. The junior carded six birdies on his final day at the Graysburg Hills golf course. Collins finished tied for tenth with teammates Jackson Tyler and Jake Mynatt with a three-under 213 score for the tournament.
