Men's golf holds tight to no. 2 spot in Bushnell/Golfweek poll

Golfweek/Bushnell Coaches Poll Top 25

NORMAN, Okla. - The Carson-Newman men's golf team held firm at the no. 2 spot in the latest edition of the Bushnell/Golfweek coaches poll released on Thursday, Apr. 1.

The Eagles sit ahead of SAC foes no. 3 Lincoln Memorial and no. 11 Limestone in the newest edition of the polls. Barry remains as the number one team in the country after earning 18 of the 20 possible first-place votes. LMU and no. 4 Arkansas Tech both earned a pair of votes from the coaches. 

C-N is also ranked no. 3 in the Golfstat polls and holds the no. 1 spot in the NCAA Southeast Regional rankings. 

As a team, the Eagles finished fifth overall at the Tennessee River Rumble this past week. Carson-Newman finished the second round with a 292 before shooting a final round two-under score of 286. The convocation finished with the third-best scores on par-threes, shooting four-over and an average score of 3.07. The convocation were successful on par fives, finishing with the third-best score on the longest holes, recording an average score of 4.85 and nine-under. 

The Eagles will take this weekend off before heading to the SAC Men's Golf Championships beginning on Apr. 10 at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club in Greeneville, Tenn. Fans can follow along with all of the updates on the Carson-Newman men's golf team at cneagles.com.
