C-N Swim places second in the SAC Women's Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Carson-Newman Swim named second in the SAC Women's Swimming Preseason Poll.

The Carson-Newman women's swim team racked up 22 points and two first-place votes in the SAC preseason poll landing them in the number two spot as they head into the first home meet of the 2022-23 season this Saturday against Milligan.

The women took second in the poll closely trailing Wingate. The Bulldogs had 24 points, leading the Eagles by two. Lenoir-Rhyne came in at third with 17 points followed by Catawba with 13. Fifth place ended in a tie between Mars Hill and Emory & Henry with seven points apiece.

Rachel Peden, Manon Compagner, and Kyla Blakemore were named in the 2022-23 SAC Women's Swimmers to Watch. All three women secured a first-place finish in the first regular season meet for the Eagles.

The Eagles started conference swim with a 158-45 win over Emory & Henry. The women swept the podium in three events including the 100 SC meter backstroke, 400 SC meter freestyle, and the 100 SC meter breaststroke. Carson-Newman placed first in 10 out of 11 events.

Milligan will visit the Maddox Pool this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for the Eagles' first home meet.
