Carson-Newman Women's Swim Ranked No. 14 in CSCAA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Eagles join one other South Atlantic Conference program in the top-25 ranked NCAA Division II women's teams for the month of January.

Carson-Newman women's swim earned the No. 14 rank in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division II top 25 polls. The rankings are voted on by CSCAA media representatives and member coaches on a monthly basis. The Eagles recieved a score of 148 points in the vote. Wingate received 217 votes and a eighth-place spot in the women's rankings. 

The Carson-Newman women's swim team is joined by the men who ranked No. 20 with 74 votes in the CSCAA DII Men's Poll. 

The Eagles ended the regular season last night against Georgia Tech where the women continued find the podium as they have all season. 

Kyla Blakemore won gold in the women's 200-yard backstroke in 2:00.91. Chrisman Rand finished second in the 200-yard IM (2:10.99), and Lillian Hilt followed closely behind for bronze in the event with a time of 2:15.63. 

Rachel Peden finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:06.46. Manon Compagner placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with her 58.32 second swim. 

Carson-Newman women's swim will compete in the South Atlantic Conference Championships beginning Feb. 8 as the No. 14 CSCAA NCAA Division II ranked team.
