INDIANAPOLIS. – In the NCAA's latest release of their women's soccer region rankings today, Carson-Newman women's soccer ranks 9th in the Southeast region.

The region rankings are determined by several metrics. Strength of schedule, in-region record, in-region RPI, in-region strength of schedule, and performance indicator.

The Southeast Region is made up of teams from the South Atlantic Conference, the Peach Belt Conference, and the Conference Carolinas.

Carson-Newman dropped two spots in the rankings. The Eagles played to a 1-1 tie with Tusculum a week ago from today. Then, on Saturday, C-N lost its quarterfinal home match to Wingate 3-1. C-N's performance indicator dropped from 17.667 last week to 17.471 this week.

The top three in the Southeast region remained the same. With Columbus State number one, followed by Catawba and then Lenoir-Rhyne.

Flagler jumped ahead of Limestone for the No. 4 spot. Wingate climbed two spots from 8 to 6 with two wins last week.

UNC Pembroke is 14-2-2 and moved up two spots in the rankings. North Georgia was unranked last week but moves into eighth with a 10-4-3 record.

Only eight teams from the Southeast region will make the NCAA tournament. Five at-large bids and the three tournament champions from the SAC, PeachBelt and Conference Carolinas comprise the field.
