Eagles Women's Golf Finishes Strong on Final Day of NCAA DII South Regional Preview

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman women's golf team wrapped up the NCAA DII South Regional Preview on Tuesday, finishing in 14th while having multiple golfers show vast improvement from day one to day two.

The Eagles shot their lowest round as a team on day two, with Caroline Nemes finishing tied for 39th, putting up her lowest shot total of the two-day event, shooting a 76 on the final 18 holes to finish 15-over.

Ida Petersen finished tied for 56th and shot the best total of an Eagle in the two-day event with a 70 on the final 18 holes. The final round for Petersen was a 15-stroke improvement from her 85-shot second round. Petersen wrapped up the event at 20-over.

Ashley Holland shortly followed Petersen, finishing tied for 62nd. Holland also shot her best tournament round, with a 76-shot performance on the final 18 holes. Knocking six strokes off her round one performance and four strokes off round two, Holland finished at 22-over par.

Madison Cline finished the tournament in 72nd at 26-over par, shooting an 81 in round three. Macy Bromley tied for 79th at 32-over par with an 84 on the final 18 holes.

Collectively, the Eagles shot a 303 in round three, an 18-stroke improvement from their first-round score.

The Eagles look to build on the positive momentum built on the final day of the NCAA DII South Regional Preview to prepare for the 10th Annual LeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, Ga., on October 9th.
