Eagles Close Out Regular Season, Finish 7th at Lady Bearcat Invitational

GREENWOOD, SC – Following their best team round of the tournament, the Eagles finished the Lady Bearcat Invitational in 7th, jumping two spots after shooting a 302 in round three.

Caroline Nemes led the Eagles, finishing tied for 16th after shooting a 76 in round three and 11-over for the tournament. Despite three straight holes over par on the front nine, Nemes responded nicely with eight straight holes at par. While shooting two holes over par near the end of the back nine, the junior notched a bogey on hole 17 before shooting par on hole 18 to finish the round at 4-over.

Ida Petersen made a considerable jump up the leaderboard, shooting a 72 in the final round to finish the event tied for 23rd at 13-over. While Petersen's day started with two bogeys on the first three holes, she bounced back with three birdies down the stretch of the front nine. On the back nine, despite two early bogeys, Petersen notched back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18 to finish the round at even par.

Madison Cline finished tied for 36th, shooting an 81 in the final round and 18-over in the tournament. While not shooting her best round, Cline found a nice groove of consistency on the front nine, shooting five straight holes at par. On the back nine, despite three holes over par, Cline shot a birdie on hole 15 before shooting two of the last three holes at par to finish the round at 9-over.

Hannah Holland jumped 30 spots in the final round, shooting her best round of the tournament with a 73 to finish at 20-over. Holland shot just two holes over par on the front nine and tallied three birdies in addition to three holes at par. On the back nine, despite adding a stroke, Holland finished strong with a birdie on hole 18 to finish the round at 1-over.

Macy Bromley rounded out the Eagles, shooting an 81 to finish tied for 69th at 29-over for the tournament. In her final round, while having eight holes over par, she tallied a birdie and finished strong with three pars on the final four holes to finish the round at 9-over.

With the regular season concluded, the Eagles will take some time off to prepare for the SAC Championships in Salisbury, North Carolina, on April 15th and 16th.
