Eagles Finish SAC Championships in 6th Place

SALISBURY, NC—In a highly competitive conference field, Carson-Newman dropped three spots on the final day of action at the SAC Championships. With a 312-stroke third round, it finished in 6th place to close out the event at 67-over as a team.

The freshman Macy Bromley led the Eagles, matching her second-round total with a 76 in round three to finish the tournament tied for 20th at 17-over. It was a consistent start for Bromley, shooting the first seven holes at par before tallying a bogey and a birdie on holes 8 and 9 to finish the front nine at even. Despite a trio of bogeys and a double bogey on the back nine, Bromley shot the other six holes at par to finish the round at 5-over.

Ida Petersen finished tied for 24th with an 81 in round three. She started the round well, shooting her first four holes at par or better, including a birdie on hole three. Petersen shot a bogey on hole five and a triple bogey on eight, adding three strokes to her total. Pedersen shot four holes at par on the back nine, but five holes over par added seven strokes, and she finished the round at 10-over.

Madison Cline tied for 24th, responding well on the back nine to finish the round with a 79. Cline shot five straight holes over par before a birdie to build momentum for the back nine. She settled in on the final nine holes, shooting seven of the nine holes at par or better, including a birdie on 17 to finish the round at 8-over.

Caroline Nemes and Hannah Holland shortly followed, finishing tied for 31st.

Nemes had a solid front nine, shooting her first four holes at par before two birdies to limit the damage of two bogeys and a triple bogey. Despite five holes at par on the back nine, four holes over par added six strokes to her total to finish the round at 9-over.

Holland shot a 77 in the final round, matching her first-round total. Despite five bogeys on the front nine, Holland added just one stroke on the back nine thanks to three birdies. The improved back nine put Holland at 6-over.
