Eagles Trek to Familiar Course for Jerry Surrate Memorial

MONROE, NC – The Eagles women's golf team returns to the course for the first time since mid-February, competing in the Jerry Surrate Memorial at the Stonebridge Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles finished strong at the Battle at Hilton Head in their last outing. Caroline Nemes and Ida Petersen, both tied for sixth, were among the top ten finishers. Overall, C-N had a solid finish, with four Eagles shooting their lowest round of the tournament.

Despite having some time off, the Stonebridge Golf Club is not an unfamiliar course for the Eagles. In the event a year ago, Caroline Nemes recorded her career-best finish, slotting in the top five. Hannah Holland delivered the best performance of her Carson-Newman career, finishing the event at 3-over and securing a tie for 4th. Ida Petersen also competed at a high level in the event, finishing at 9-over for a 37th-place finish.

A highlight of the two-day event for the Eagles was their performance on par 4s, notching the lowest scoring average amongst all teams at 4.33. C-N also finished in the top three on par 3s and 5s.

Madison Cline and Macy Bromley will see the course for the first time, but with three golfers with experience at the event, the Eagles will look for a similar performance to a year ago.

C-N will kick off the event at 9 AM on Monday at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, North Carolina.
