KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Maeve Cummins (Waringstown, Northern Ireland) and Hannah Holland (Sale Creek, Tenn.) led a crew of Carson-Newman women's golfers playing in the Tennessee Golf Association Women's Amateur Championship this week at the Holston Hills Country Club.
The three-round event wrapped up on Thursday with the duo tied for 20th at 15-over with 231 totals.
Cummins posted rounds of 79-74-78 on the week, firing four birdies with 10 bogeys. Her 2-over Wednesday came with a pair of birdies and bogeys and just one double-bogey.
As for Holland, she was 79-73-79 for the event on five birdies and 12 bogeys. She was 1-over on Wednesday thanks to an eagle on the par-5 7th. Two of her birdies came in that round, as well.
Joining the pair in the field were incoming freshman Ashley Holland (Sale Creek, Tenn.) and Aynsleigh Martin (Knoxville, Tenn.).
Holland tied for 30th with a 27-over 243. Her lowest round came on Wednesday, scoring an 80 on a birdie, six bogeys and a double bogey. Martin finished two shots behind Holland with a 246 that was good enough for 33rd. Her best round also came on Wednesday, posting a 79 with a trio of birdies, four bogeys and three double bogeys.
