Eagles stay locked in at 18th in Golfstat rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Carson-Newman women's golf team held serve in this week's Golfstat rankings, remaining at 18th in the newest edition released on Wednesday, Mar. 23.

Carson-Newman ranks behind fellow SAC members no. 4 Limestone, no. 5 Anderson, and no. 16 Wingate. Lynn University remains at first in the national rankings.

The Eagles sit at 17th in the WGCA polls and 10th in the NCAA regional rankings.

Maeve Cummins is up three spots in this week's individual polls, up to 31st in the country in all of Division-II. Cummins rose up twelve spots between rounds to finish tied for 17th at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate after shooting a four-over 75 in the second round. The Waringstown, Northern Ireland native finished at eleven-over with a score of 153.

Ellie Haughton is up four spots in the rankings, sitting at 35th in the nation. Haughton became just the sixth woman in Bobby Nichols history to shoot a 147, 36-hole score. The Lincolnshire, England native shot a five-over 76 to finish the week in a tie for third place. Haughton had the fifth-best score on par threes, averaging 3.17 and shooting two-over, along with the third-best score on par fours with an average score of 4.07 and shooting one-over. She also carded four birdies in 36 holes.

Alice Gotbring of Barry is ranked as the number one player in Division-II women's golf by Golfstat.
