Women's Golf slides up two spots to 18th in Golfstat rankings

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - In the final Golfstat rankings released before the NCAA selection show, Carson-Newman slides up two spots to 18th in the newest rankings released on Wednesday, Apr. 20.

The Eagles join fellow SAC teams no. 3 Limestone, no. 5 Anderson, and no. 14 Wingate. Dallas Baptist remains in the no. one spot. 

Carson-Newman is ranked no. 20 in the WGCA Coaches Poll.

Individually, Maeve Cummins is up one spot to no. 33 in the national rankings. Cummins recorded her second career top-five finish at the SAC Women's Golf Championships, finishing fourth at this year's tournament. The Waringstown, Northern Ireland native shot a one-over 73 in the final round of the tournament to finish the week with an overall score of a five-over 221.

Ellie Haughton slides down to the 64th spot in the individual rankings. The Lincolnshire, England native finished the SAC Tournament tied for 16th with a three-round 15-over 231 score.

Alice Gotbring of Barry sits at first place in the Golfstat 150. 

Carson-Newman, who currently sit at 12th in the NCAA Southeast Regional rankings, will await their postseason fate. The participants in the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional will be announced on ncaa.com on Monday, Apr. 25.
