INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following their second top-five finish of the spring season, the Carson-Newman women's golf team is up three spots in the Golfstat national rankings announced on Wednesday, Mar. 2.

The Eagles moved from 19th to 16th in the newest edition of the Golfstat poll. Carson-Newman joins no. 2 Limestone, no. 7 Anderson, no. 17 Wingate and no. 20 Lenoir-Rhyne as the SAC members ranked by Golfstat. Carson-Newman is also ranked no. 17 in the latest WGCA poll and 12th in the NCAA Southeast Region poll.

Carson-Newman used a strong second day by Ellie Haughton and Maeve Cummins to finish tied for fourth at this week's Low Tide Intercollegiate. The pair both sit inside the top-50 of the Golfstat individual rankings.

Cummins is ranked as the 30th best player in D-II acoording to Golfstat. Cummins is averaging two-over par this season and has recorded back-to-back top-five finishes.

Haughton is ranked at 45 in the Golfstat rankings. She is also shooting on average two-over par and has recorded back-to-back top-ten finishes. 

Sara Ericsson of Lynn is ranked as the number one player in Division-II women's golf and her Fighting Knights are also listed as the number one team in the Golfstat Division-II rankings.

The Eagles will take this week off to prepare for the Bobby Nicholls Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn. on Mar. 13.
